Advanced bioactive vivarium construction course banner showing a structured Euro-style enclosure with layered planting, ventilation, lighting, and drainage design.

What you will learn

This course develops advanced competence in designing, constructing, documenting, and maintaining Euro vivariums and mature bioactive systems.

  • Design species-led enclosures that map behaviour and natural history into structure
  • Build Euro vivariums using safe materials, correct sealing, and structural load planning
  • Engineer ventilation and airflow to prevent dead zones and support welfare
  • Integrate drainage that is serviceable, inspectable, and resilient over time
  • Design lighting systems using LEDs and/or T5s to create usable gradients
  • Make evidence-based UVB decisions and document them professionally
  • Control heat and humidity at scale using gradients, cycles, and observation
  • Plan advanced planting for 12–24 months of growth and interaction
  • Diagnose and recover microfauna balance and manage pests without resets
  • Recognise true failure points and plan proportionate intervention or rebuilds

Who this course is for

Experienced keepers, professional animal care staff, breeders, and anyone building inspection-aware systems who needs welfare-led justification for design and husbandry decisions.
